Veterinarians are doctors who specialize in treating various types of animals. Some veterinarians, or vets for short, may choose to specialize in the most common types of domesticated animals such as cats or dogs, but they may also specialize in exotic animals such as snakes and reptiles. Some interesting facts about vets is that they often work just as hard as regular doctors and must receive specialized training to work directly with animals. Most will take college courses in biology and will move on to vet school.
