Irritated Tongue?


An irritated tongue can be caused by many things. Trauma to the tongue such as accidental biting or scalding from heat can result in irritation to the tongue. Excessive smoking can irritate the tongue and make is sore, as can excessive teeth grinding. Canker sores will develop mouth sores or ulcers throughout their lives and while the main cause is unknown, we do know that people are more prone to this phenomena during periods of elevated stress.
