How do you use the Where's My Refund tool?

The IRS GOV Where's My Refund tool is a tracker used to check on the status of any submitted tax return. This document is updated once daily when any changes are made and is available for free to anybody who has filed a federal income tax return. It is a useful tool to avoid having to call the IRS and wait on hold for simple refund status as the tool has the same information available to the agents who would normally handle these inquiries.
