Is a Dandelion a Monocot?

Answer

Because of the way the seeds grow it is easy to wonder if a dandelion is a monocot. A monocot is flowers in multiples of three. A dicot flowers in a multiple of four or five. Also a secondary growth often occurs in a dicot, which it does in the dandelion, therefore a dandelion is in fact a dicot.
