Hungary is part of the European Union. It has been part of the EU since 2004 but it uses the forint as its official currency, since the euro was not in use by November 2011. Their official language is Hungarian.

hungary has everything to gain within eu. more market, mobility, currency control etc. there's hardly any disadv unless some hungarians are still chauvinists, jingoists
