Key Stuck in Ignition?

Having a key stuck in a car ignition is a common problem that can be the result of a variety of reasons. One reason is that the cable that runs to and from the steering column is misplaced and binding the ignition. If this is the case, you can usually reach under the steering wheel and move the cable and then be able to remove the car key from the ignition. Another reason for a key getting stuck in the ignition is with the shifting mechanism getting locked in place.
