What are some examples of literary devices?

Answer

There are a number of different literary devices used in all kinds of writings. They will differ depending on the tone the author is trying to achieve. Some examples of literary devices are an allegory, author intrusion, characterization, conflict, and connotation. One really fun device is called the doppelganger. It's used when a character is brought into the story that is the opposite or a counterfeit of another character.
