Living Vicariously through Another?

Answer

Living vicariously through another is a phrase used to describe a person who uses or views someone else's experiences as their own. An example of this would be if someone asks you if you've ever been scuba diving before and you say yes, because you watched a movie about it the week before. Living vicariously through others basically means that you get pleasure out of watching someone enjoy their own life, even if you don't enjoy your own.
