# Loaf of Bread Price History?

The price of a loaf of bread through history has gone up significantly throughout history. In the pioneer days the cost of a hard loaf of bread was 9-10 cents per pound. The pioneers also made their own bread so they needed ot purchase flour which was 5 cents per pound. In 1911 the coast of a loaf of bread was 10 cents. In 1913 the cost of a loaf of bread in Philidelphia was 6 cents.
