Logarithmic word problems involve evaluating a given logarithmic equation at a given point, and solving for a given variable; They are pretty straightforward. Exponential word problems tend to be much more involved requiring a student to first generate the exponential equation, and then also find the value of one of the variables before beginning to answer the actual question. Logarithm problems can be used to find acidity or alkalinity of a substance, decibels of a certain sound, and earthquake intensity as measured by the Richter scale.
