Lyocell is a cellulose type of fiber. It is created from dissolving pulp, also known as bleached wood pulp. The company known as Courtaulds Fibers UK was the first to develop and manufacture it in the 1980s decade. It was first made in the United Kingdom and as of 2010, has been manufactured by Lenzing AG in Austria. It is still sold under the brand name of Tencel. It is used in making denim, underwear, towels, and even in some baby wipes.
