Texas is a large state that straddles multiple ecological areas and has many major landforms. In west Texas, the Davis Mountains are a range in the Big Bend area. Much of central and west Texas features what is called the 'Hill Country' while north Texas is part of the Great Plains. In southeast Texas there is the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and the Coastal Plains. The Mexican border features the Rio Grande.
