Methergine after Abortion?

Answer

Methergine is also known as Ergonovine or Ergotrate. One Methergine pill is given after an abortion to control bleeding, and to help bring the uterus back to normal size. If you don't take the Methergine, your bleeding may be heavier, and you should discuss this with your doctor.
