McKinley Morganfield, known as American blues musician Muddy Waters, was married to Marva Jean Brooks when he died April 30, 1983 at the age of 70. She was his fourth wife.

Muddy Waters, considered the "father of modern Chicago blues" and a major inspiration for the British blues explosion of the 1960s, married his first wife, Mabel Berry, on Nov. 20, 1932.

Mabel left him three years later when his first child was born. The childs mother was Leola Spain, whom he never married. A few years later, Muddy Waters remarried a girl named Sallie Ann. They divorced when he left Chicago in 1943.

Muddys long-time wife Geneva died of cancer on March 15, 1973. He met and married 19-year-old Marva Jean Brooks, whom he nicknamed Sunshine, in Florida later that year.
