In North Carolina or NC the trailer laws require an owner to have formal title and registration filed. In order to have abide by the NC trailer laws the owner must show a properly signed title, bill of sale or manufacturers statement of origin, a signed application for title and license, receipts of all paid personal property taxes, and proof of appropriate insurance for the trailer. The types of trailers that NC requires to abide by the trailer laws are camper trailers, livestock trailers, semi-trailers, flat beds, boat trailers, and farm wagons.
