The Han dynasty collapsed for both internal and external reasons. Some of them are; the court had grown week. the government had trouble collecting enough revenue to fund the court. They were always raided by the nomadic people from the north. The most important factor however was the Sino-Xiongnu Wars of 133 BCE to 89 CE.
