What were the successes of Rutherford's scattering experiment?

Answer

Rutherford Ernest is considered father of nuclear physics because of his demonstration of scattering experiment which is applied today in metal impurity separations. The results or successes of the experiment were discoveries that a small number of alpha atoms were bounced from their path but the rest continued, some of the alpha particles knocked back and majority of the alpha particles passed through the experiment tube without being deviated.
