A Pontiac Trans Am was a big part of the 1977 movie Smokey and the Bandit and was prominently featured in this road trip comedic adventure starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, and Jackie Gleason. Smokey and the Bandit centered around a race to get unpasteurized Coors beer over state lines before the beer turned bad. There was never a movie version of this Trans Am made, but Pontiac sold more Trans Ams due to this film.
