What was not a major social issue of the 1980s'?

Answer

The 1980's had a lot of social and political issues, such as the outbreak of crack/cocaine use, HIV/AIDs, the arms race, etc. There was one major issue of today that wasn't present in the 80's, though. Gay marriage wasn't a major social issue until the mid 1990's.
