Why Is There an Expiration Date on Soda Pop?

Answer

There is an expiration date on almost every edible product you can buy at the supermarket/grocery store. The reason why there is an expiration date on soda pop is to alert customers to drink it before the expiry date as after this date the product could be flat. It is not particularly harmful to drink soda pop that has passed its expiration date.
