What should a user do when operations on a USB memory device have been completed and it is necessary to remove it from the laptop computer?

Answer

A user should properly eject a USB memory device after operations on it are completed. In Windows 7, this is done by clicking the USB icon on the right side of the task bar and clicking Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media. Then choose and click the name of the media that needs to be ejected.
