The Tiger Rising is a children's book that was written by Kate DiCamillo and was published in 2001. It received a Newberry Medal and was a National Book Award Finalist. It is the story of a 12 year old boy named Rob Horton who lives with his father in a Florida Motel called the Kentucky Star. Rob's mother has passed away and while adjusting to their new life, Rob finds a caged tiger in the center of the woods near his home.
