Vegetable Glycerin Safe to Eat?


Vegetable Glycerin is safe to use in place of sugar when cooking. Vegetable Glycerin is derived from coconut or palm oil. Vegetable Glycerin also contains no carbohydrates or cholesterol. It also appears that Glycerine is not related to sugar and seems to have no affect on insulin and blood sugar levels making it a safe alternative for diabetics and people with candida yeast overgrowth. When cooking, Glycerin goes a long way, one tablespoon of vegetable glycerine is equivalent to about 1/4 cup of sugar. Though when heated, it does lose some of its flavor through evaporation.
