Vinegar Strip a Perm?

Answer

It was once believed that vinegar could be used to strip a perm. This has now been proven incorrect and adding straight vinegar to permed hair can damage it and cause the shafts to swell and break. Vinegar won't break the chemical bonds that were created during the perm and the only two ways to get rid of a perm are to wait for it to grow out, which can take a long time, or have your hairstylist straighten it. Before adding anything to your hair, it is always best to speak to a professional, who may have a more effective treatment.
