Animals that live in water are referred to as aquatic animals. They are classified as either vertebrate or invertebrate and live in water for most or all of their life. There are many such animals and some of them include fishes, mollusks, seabirds, such as gulls, pelicans, albatrosses and most of the Anseriformes (ducks, swans and geese). Others are hippopotamus, sharks, crocodiles, turtles and dolphins to name but a few.
