The four types of helper cells are Th1, Th2, Tfh and Th17. The Th1 participates in cell mediated immunity, the Th2 provide help for the B cells, the Tfh also provides help to B cells enabling them to develop into antibody secreting plasma cells and the Th17 protects surfaces of the skin, lining of the intestine against extracellular bacteria.
