What Are the Parts of a Nun's Habit Called?

Answer

The nun's habit depends upon her religious order. In the 1960s, the Roman Catholic Church decreed that the various orders could modernize their dress as long as it was modest and showed a symbol of their order. However, the more common habit was worn then and can still be seen today in some orders. The nun's habit consisted of many layers. There was the tunic (dress), coif, veil, rosary, and a scapular which was an apron that went over the shoulders and covered the front and back of the tunic.
