Difference between Inner and Outer Planet?

The inner planets are smaller than the outer ones and they consist of mainly rocks and metal surfaces. They include; mercury, venus, earth and mars. The outer planets are bigger that the inner ones and they are made up of hygrogen and helium with each having its own system of moon.
