What are the bright lights that travel across the night sky?

There is no obvious scientific explanation of the bright lights that travel across the night sky, either those seen in Nassau on January the 10th, 1985, or those observed in 1913. It still remains a mystery.

It depends on the speed at which it appears to move. A meteor (shooting star" travels very quickly and is gone in a second or two. A satellite is visible for several minutes
