What Are the Two Main Components of Blood?

Answer

The two main components of blood are plasma and formed elements. Some scientists break it down even further and say that blood is actually made up of four main components which are plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Each element of the blood has a different job. For example, the white blood cells are responsible for fighting off infections and disease. Plasma makes up the majority of the blood at about 55 percent of the volume. It is the liquid part of the blood.
