A third world country is a country whose economy is less developed and lacks either societal, technological and industrial infrastructure necessary to provide high living standards for its citizens. This term was initially used to refer to countries that were not allied to NATO and capitalism. Examples of such countries are Malawi, Kenya and Thailand. These countries are mainly distributed in Africa and Asia.
