What Can I Use to Make Candle Wicks?

Answer

If you wish to make your own candle wicks, dissolve salt and borax in warm water. Soak cotton kite string in the solution for about 15 minutes. After this, hang the string with a clothespin for five days to completely dry. Afterwards, use a paper clip to dip the string in melted wax three or four times, coating it completely and leave it to hang up to dry like before. Finally, keep wicks rolled up in a newspaper.
