Cause of the Trail of Tears?

Answer

The Trail of Tears was caused by the forced migration of indigenous Indians from the east of the Mississippi to Oklahoma as a result of the policy of Andrew Jackson, the New Echota Treaty, meant to remove Indians from their land. It is so named because the migration caused great death and suffering to the Indian people due to hunger and disease. Their land was then taken up by white settlers.
