Allodynia is a pain as result of a stimulus that does not normally provoke pain. It can also be caused by migraine or certain populations of stem cells which are used to treat nerve damage conditions such as spinal cord injury.

Allodynia is a long-standing increase in pain perception due to a stimulus, which does not usually provoke pain. Temperature or bodily stimuli can easily trigger allodynia and it frequently occurs after injury to a site.
