There are various factors or diseases that cause throat spasms and they are; allergic reactions to certain food stuff, stroke or panic attacks, asthma, COPD, convulsive seizures, dehydration, medication and nervous breakdown. They also occur in people with muscle spasms but it is not evident if the muscle spasms cause the throat spasms.
