What Cities Does the Mississippi River Run through?


The Mississippi River is the largest river in North America that is about 2,320 miles long. It originates at Lake Itasca, Minnesota, and slowly flows southwards in sweeping meanders, below New Orleans terminating 95 miles by river, where it begins to flow to the Gulf of Mexico. The river Mississippi runs through 10 states, which are Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
