What Countries Use the Customary System?


The only countries that use the customary system of conversion are US, Liberia and Burma.The rest of the other countries use the International System of Units.

The Customary System of measurement is used almost exclusively in the United States. All other countries use the metric system. This was the result of the Weights and Measurements Act of 1824 in the US. Though other countries switched from the imperial system (championed by the British) to the metric by the 20th century, America continued to use its own method.
