Kennedy was shot on Friday, Nov. 22, 1963. At the time of his assassination, he was the 35th President of the United States of America. He was riding in a motorcade with his own wife as well as the Texas governor and his wife in Dallas, Texas when he was shot.
The man who shot Kennedy was later identified as Lee Harvey Oswald, a former Marine in the United States Marine Corps. It was determined that he acted alone in the assassination. He was later killed by Jack Ruby during his transfer to the county jail. Oswald was only 24 years old at the time of his death.
