What Do Monks Wear?

Monks wear a tunic which they tied around the waist with a cloth or leather belt. Over the tunic is a scapula. A cowl is then attached to the scapula. The front of the scapula is then secured with a small piece of rectangular cloth that snaps the sides together. Some monks also wear a cross upon a chain around their necks.
