What does a blighted ovum look like?


A blighted ovum is characterised with an empty womb or an empty gestational sac. It is also characterised with signs such as minor abdominal cramps, minor vaginal spotting or even bleeding. A blighted ovum normally occurs when fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop.
