A gallstone is a tiny, pebble like substance which develops in a gallbladder. They normally form when liquid that is stored in the gallbladder hardens into pieces of stone like structure. The two types of gallstones are pigment gallstone and cholesterol gallstone.

Gallstones look like small stones or gravel and can be as large as a pebble at times. They are usually formed in the gallbladder, and in severe cases they can fill the while bladder. Gallstones are formed from chemicals that are in the bile, which consist of cholesterol.
