What does a hawthorn tree look like?


The hawthorn tree has a trunk that is usually ash-grey in colour, smooth, and has a hard wood. The branches are thorny, with small, shiny leaves, which are dark green at the top and light green underneath. The leaves also have 3 irregularly toothed lobes. The tree produces white flowers that have round petals, and grow in terminal corymbs.
