What does a sugar maple tree look like?

A sugar maple leaf is the leaf on the Canadian flag. The tree itself can get as tall as 100 feet. The leaves are dark green on top and paler underneath. The leaves will get to 3 to 5 inches long. Twigs are fairly slender, a shiny reddish-brown color, the buds are narrow, sharply pointed and brown. The bark starts out a dark gray but as it gets older the bark looks brown.
