What Does a Two Direction Arrow Indicate in a Chemical Equation?

Chemical equations represent and summarize the reactions of chemical compounds. An arrow in a chemical equation defines the direction of the process of reactants (a substance that enters into a reaction), to products (or the end result of the reaction or equation). The arrow itself is read as 'yield' or 'produce'. A double-headed arrow indicates that the equation can also be true when reversed.
