What does an eggplant plant look like?


The eggplant got its surname from a diversity that yields minor oval white fruit that are similar to eggs. The well-known eggplant we find in U.S. markets is a variety known as 'aubergine.' The eggplant belongs to the Solanaceae plant family along with tomatoes, potatoes and hollow peppers.
