What Does Hookworm Look like in Humans?


A hookworm is a parasitic nematode which thrives in the intestines of the host. The hookworms that attack humans are of two species; Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus. These worms are grayish white or pinkish in color, with the head slightly bent. The Necator americanus is generally smaller than the Ancylostoma duodenale.
