For freshman application, UCLA requires 15 minimum academic preparatory courses, or 'a-g' subject requirements in English, History/Social Science, Mathematics, Laboratory Science, Langauge and Other English, Visual and Performing Arts and College Preparatory Electives. Students must also complete the SAT or ACT Assessment and ACT Writing Test. Minimum GPA is 3.0 for California residents and 3.4 for nonresidents.
