A nightmare could mean several things such as if you are lost or trapped it could mean that you are having trouble making a right decision in real life or if you dream of being chased in real life someone is making you feel threatened. If it's a dream about failing a test it could be that one is unprepared or is playing a wrong part in life. Dreams about death or illness are interpreted as one is emotionally hurt or is afraid of being hurt.
