In computer terms, SATA means Serial Advanced Technology Attachment. SATA is a computer bus interface that is used to connect computer peripherals, such as hard disk drives, motherboards and optical disk drives. It was created in 2003 which superseded the PATA, or Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment.
