Scooby-Doo's famous catchphrases include "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!" "Rut-Roh!" and "Raggy!" The latter is a reference to the canine's best friend and owner in the series, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers.
First introduced in Hanna-Barbera's animated series in September 1969, Scooby Doo is a talking Great Dane that accompanies a gang of aspiring teenage sleuths, Velma, Freddy, Daphne and Shaggy, as they solve mysteries. While the original series ended in January 1971, the animated franchise carried on in a number of subsequent shows, books, movies and comics. Between 2002 and 2010, four live-action films based on the original series were released. As of 2014, the most recent incarnation of the series, "Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated," aired from April 2010 to April 2013.
